On the 27th and 28th of May the Kite board Open was up and running. It was a gigantic event. Of course the Flying Pig Beach was completely booked. Also some colleagues from the head office joined us for the weekend.

The first day of the event was fantastic; the weather forecast looked pretty good. And there was enough wind to show the crowd what the contenders where up to.

After all the action in the water the party was booming, dj’s where spinning the wheels of steel like you never heard before. Day 2: everyone was a bit broken. Was it because of the party or was it because there was no wind? Two real cool powerboats made it possible to show some action anyway. Lot’s of local wave surfers enjoyed the epic wave conditions. One guy tried to show that it’s also possible to fly while wavesurfing!

Although there was no wind everyone had a great time and that’s what it’s all about! Maybe we see you next year!

we found yet another good reason to have a random party at the uptown: the dutch national holiday of “hemelvaart”, free translation: trip to heaven…. alcohol was cheap, for it was also our famous thirsty thursday! the staff got everybody drinking jagermeister and the party was complete. after a while people couldn’t resist the good tunes anymore and everyone got up to dance. it was a really late night, but a great succes. so when’s the next national holiday?

Party on….!

Wow what a day! They say the temperature has never been as high with Queensday as this year…and the atmosphere was great, in the city and in the hostels…thanks to all the great guests who stayed with us.
